The Julian Alps are a mountain range in north-western Slovenia, stretching into neighbouring Italy. They are part of the larger Eastern Alps and are named after Julius Caesar. The Julian Alps are known for their natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities such as hiking, skiing and mountain climbing.

The mountain range includes several peaks over 2,000 metres, including Mount Triglav, the highest peak in Slovenia, which is a popular destination for hikers and climbers.

The Julian Alps are also home to many glacial lakes, including Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj, which are popular tourist destinations. The Julian Alps lie within the Triglav National Park, which was established in 1924 and is Slovenia's oldest national park.
